Personal Background Checks

Rainbow Investigations has a regular client base of U.S. based pre-employment investigative agencies that use us to provide some basic background information about prospective former Canadians seeking employment in the U.S.

Prospective clients in this area must understand that the privacy laws and the availability of personal information greatly differ in Canada than in the U.S.

Canada tends to not have huge freely available databases that investigators can easily access.  Certain Canadian jurisdictions, Alberta in particular, tend to be very cautious about allowing private investigators to any non-public personal information.

Some information is simply not available at all to PI’s; other information is only available on an “incident” basis (i.e. cannot search routinely under a name, but rather can retrieve a known incident with that name).

Most of the information we can obtain concerns court records. Even here though, there are restrictions.

Rainbow Investigations is not in the business of providing personal “curiosity” background checks on prospective relationship situations, or to 3rd parties in such a matter.

Furthermore, under no circumstances do we provide personal investigative information for partisan political purposes such as “to find some dirt on our opponent”, or "surveying and infiltrating opponents to a government proposal", etc.

Providing personal information is an important and serious matter, and we only provide such for justified legal purposes.

Business Background Checks

Researching a business prior to investing, or signing a service contract with such, is probably one of the most under utilized services Rainbow Investigations provides.

Rainbow Investigations has different packages available to research the history of the business, its compliance record with licensing requirements, other financial information about the company.

These checks are so essential in some of the types of businesses that are historically filled with bad actors - in Alberta this includes any type of construction contractors, moving companies, financial services, etc. 

Many of the victims of scams who we have provided services with over the years would have saved tens of thousands of dollars had they the forsight to do this research ahead of time.

Research Requests

Rainbow Investigations is a very good choice to use as your agent in research type requests with governments, police departments, other enforcement agencies.

We have been utilized to act as an agent in Access to Information requests from the RCMP and Health Canada, issues with intellectual property misunderstandings with Industry Canada, and other issues with various provincial departments. 

We routinely research the chronology of contentious litigation scenarios.

We have  researched real estate disputes on behalf of clients, shady matrimonial property disputes, and strange bankruptcies with are often tied in with new concurrent business ventures..

Of course, once the truth is uncovered it isn't always the way our client thought it might be.  But the truth usually brings closure.
