Rainbow Investigations has undertaken many investigations for law firm clients. Quite often we are asked to do the difficult process serving, where the other party has to be found, or is not willingly going to accept being served documents.
We have provided service of documents in and around the Calgary area for law firms throughout Canada. We do the Affidavit of Service ourselves, as we have direct access to Commissioners to swear the oath. With other jurisdictions, there are some differences in the necessary affidavits – sometimes we have to get the affidavits notarized, but we have the access to lawyers to do such.
We have found “missing” parties with such matters as will and estate matters, family and divorce disputes, debt collection issues, and of course, parties involved in motor vehicle accidents.
Some of other activities on behalf of law firm clients have included:
- Taking statements from potential witnesses in personal injury files
- Undertaking specialized searches to determine a chronology of events, and reconstruction of a scenario
- Providing court room quality photographic evidence of objects of interest for exhibits
The advantage Rainbow Investigations has, as an investigation firm in this area, is our Legal Assistant training. Rainbow Investigations staff members are all committed to continuous learning, and we all have taken, and continue to take various legal type courses.
We know about the entire process of a civil law claim, and its resolution.
We have a good idea of what is required, from an evidence viewpoint, to make a strong case for a legal professional to obtain a satisfactory settlement for a client.
Also, our thorough and complete knowledge of the “small claims” or Provincial Court Civil Division process in Alberta, and our level of comfort in representing clients through this process, allows us to be a very positive option for legal professionals elsewhere, who need some “legwork” done in the Calgary area.
With regards to finding “missing people”, we respectively submit that we are one of the most effective investigative agencies in Canada with this role.
We are operating in a jurisdiction that has some of North America's most restrictive policies to information access for professional investigators, and as well, at least in our jurisdiction, PI’s are not at the top of the respected professions list.
Yet despite these hindrances, Rainbow Investigations does manage to maintain our self-imposed service standard with missing persons in over 90% of the files we undertake.
Our service standard with missing persons is that we find the missing person within 10 business days at a cost of less than $500 Canadian dollars over 90% of the time. In Alberta, with all the restrictions we have, that is quite an effective service standard.
