FTC Goes After Montreal Based Diet Scam

Today the U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced enforcement action on one of the numerous operating Montreal-based diet scams.

Bio Lab was first exposed by Rainbow Investigations in February 2002, and again in April of 2002.

Bio Lab has numerous products, among them Cellu-Fight, and Quick Slim Fat Blocker. Bio Lab operated out of mailbox locations in Plattsburgh and Lake Placid in the U.S.

The advertising consisted largely of ads in weekend coupon inserts, and in ads in television programming guides. Also the company operated a number of web sites.

The FTC is proceeding with arguments for an injunction, to be heard in a New York courtroom on September 20th.
