Ciren12 And Other Montreal Based Diet Scams
It seems every year since 1995, the spring brings along a melting of the ice on the St. Lawrence River, and with the warmer weather, a new batch of diet scams, along with some oldies, all coming out of the North American diet fraud headquarters - namely Montreal.
Currently Rainbow Investigations is monitoring eight separate scams, the majority coming out of Montreal. A number of them appear to be clustered with common elements, but at this time, we cannot provide specifics on that information.
Here is the latest on a selected few of the scams:
Ciren12 - this scam continues to be advertised in Western Canada daily newspapers. Yesterday, June 12, a full page ad appeared in the Vancouver Province. Previous complaints have appeared in the Calgary Sun and the Edmonton Sun. We also have unconfirmed reports from Ontario that it may have been advertised on the Global network.
The address goes to a shared office complex in North York, just north of Toronto. This is simply a maildrop, and the originating fulfillment company is located in a Montreal suburb, just to the north.
It would appear Montreal propreitors have hired this fulfillment company along with a call centre from an 800 number. The web page is also owned by Montreal people.
So far few people have reported having ordered the product. We do not see any ingredients here that would cause weight loss on its own.
SupraSvelt Drops - We are continuing to monitor this scam. Some people are reporting they are receiving refunds.
Again, we have plenty of these ads now. We just need people's experiences in getting refunds, etc. This product is marketed exclusively in the U.S. but is clearly coming from elsewhere.
Citristat - We have reports that this scam is originating out of a New York mailbox. We have reason to believe this scam is related to others currently underway.
Trim & Detox Patch - This appears to be a new scam, and it is coming out of the same Ottawa mailbox location as Neoform 3000. We don't have alot of info on this at the moment. It is coming from Montreal.
Neoform 3000 - This Montreal based scam continues to operate out of the same Ottawa mailbox as Trim & Detox Patch. We are getting reports of some people receiving refunds.
PapayaPlus - This one is still out there -over 3 years now. The advertising medium continues to be coupon inserts, (Shop and Save and Smart Source), in the Saturday editions of daily newspapers. Recent complaints have been coming mostly from Western Canada, and have involved both mailbox locations - namely Cornwall and Laval.
We have a scan of the product now.
Le Marc de Raisins - we haven't had any new complaints on this Lachine based scam, but the webpage is still out there.
High Density Nordic Soybean - We are getting the odd complaint about this one.
We have also been receiving information on a number of other diet fraud promotions taking place in the extreme North east part of the U.S.
Please keep sending us these updates, and preferrably do so by email. We reserve our phone lines for our own business during the day (the health fraud advocacy is only a hobby for us!).
Furthermore, if anybody wishes to send us ads, and or product samples, please address all this kind of mail to our new business address of #93008, 524-11th Avenue SW, Calgary, AB. The postal code is T2R 0C8.
