International Research Institute Inc. Ads - Sun Newspapers

Rainbow Investigations has become alerted to full page ads appearing May 6, 2006 in the Sun newspaper chain throughout Canada for a company known as "International Research Institute Inc."

These ads provide an opportunity for consumers to purchase what is described as "methods to be more successful at lottery games". In actual fact, our investigation reveals that what the actual consumer is purchasing is a series of "lucky numbers" and perhaps a series of "lucky days" to play the lotteries. As far as we can see, there is no evidence whatsoever, that any type of random numbers have a greater chance of being successful at lottery games.

Interestingly, the address given in the promotions leads to a 12 story office building in Toronto, and the suite number actually is the same suite number used by some Toronto health professionals. At this point we are not sure if this is another shared office maildrop, or what the story is.

The ads go further to list an 800 number which lead to a call center in Montreal. We have also confirmed there is a U.S. division to this operation.

We will provide more details on this as it becomes available, but our message to consumers for the moment is - if it looks too good to be true, it probably is!
