Nordic Soydiet Weightloss Mailouts

The infamous Montreal diet fraud scene, which has been remarkably quiet in the past year, has now showed signs of coming back to life.

Rainbow Investigations has received follow-ups in the past week from Canadian consumers receiving personalized mail outs of a weight loss product known as “High Density Nordic Soydiet Tablets”. There is no geographical trend to the mail outs – we have had inquiries from both western Canada, and Ontario. The proprietors obtain the addresses by purchasing subscriber lists from magazines; in the case of weight loss products, fraud artists utilize lists with mainly female subscribers.

The advertisements consist of various promotional handouts, including testamonials by a model with a stage name of “Mary Hudson”, who role-plays that she is a nurse in New York.

The promotions continue to utilize a mailbox in Moose Creek, Ontario – exactly as was done in 2005. The promotion again calls itself a company known as “Stockholm Capital Laboratories”, and once again this exactly parallels the 2005 promotion. Interestingly, the promotions use exactly the same phone number as the 2005 promotions, namely 1-800-616-8226. This number, of course, goes to a call center, which has the explicit purpose to take orders. At this time we do not know where the call center is located.

Assuming this is the same operation as in the past, and we have no reason at this point to believe anything differently, we have followed this organization back to different locations in Montreal or the Montreal area since 2001. In the past, they have operated a number of U.S. based weight loss promotions out of a Michigan based fulfillment center.

At this time, probably what would be most helpful would be for people to email us where they are seeing these latest mail outs. Once again, we prefer this information to come by email (rrpi2@telus.net) as opposed to any phone calls, as we are currently extremely busy with our day-to-day business.
